blankcanvasmd wrote on Jan 27 Good morning, good morning. Finally some time to write out a short greeting and a little note. Have enjoyed my week , even with work being busy. The house will seem very quiet and lonely again tomorrow when my visiting family leaves. Also have had an extra dog which has been fun and challenging. LOL She is quite large and 80 pounds, but so sweet and timid. Very well behaved in general, but she can jump my fence gate, so has to be watched closely. She has taken a liking to me and follows me around and even wants to sleep with me when I will allow it ! She’s a bed hog, though, even though we have a king size bed. I was given a desk top computer and we set that up this week. My old desk top died many months ago. Our laptop has kept us going online. The desktop is a few years old, so seems very slow, but I have been trying to get my sites and e-mails set up on it. We had 2 stormy nights this past week and got some much needed rain. No major flooding or tornadoes in our area, but some areas not too far away had some problems.( Outages, damage, flooding.) We have had fairly warm days and cool nights. Compared to those of you with snow, we have been very fortunate. I thank all of you who have been visiting my page faithfully and brightening my days. Please accept my apologies for being so slow to respond. Have a great week-end and find lots to smile about.... ![]() |
blankcanvasmd wrote on Jan 10 Well, my vacation officially ends today. My Mother appears to be getting slowly better and I got a lot accomplished about the house. Not everything like I had planned, but life often throws us curves along the way. Gotta be adaptable to what opportunities and challenges present themselves. Have a whole New Year to slowly incorporate changes and make improvements....so here's to "Looking Forward"... ![]() |

blankcanvasmd wrote on Dec 30, '11 Dropping by to thank you once again for being a part of my 2011. Every single day someone among you posts a spirit brightening "gift" for me...whether it be in the form of music, scripture, laughter, art, crafts, poetry, recipes, or even information shared. I hope, in turn, I have posted something of equal value to you. I suffered some painful losses of friends and family members this year and endured a few setbacks and worries. Each comforting word, each prayer said on my behalf has been deeply appreciated. I look forward to 2012 and an even greater opportunity to share my days and my life events with you. I am honored to have you in my life. Happy New Year. May your celebrations be full of joy and the year ahead filled with blessings.... ![]() |

blankcanvasmd wrote on Dec 6, '11 It seems a long time since I was able to spend any time making page visits. Been a busy holiday season so far at work and about the house. So many little things that need attention. Work, Christmas and grocery shopping, decorating, cards to address and mail, plumbing leaks to repair, a car repair, visits with M-I-L in Nursing home, and ongoing dental work for my husband. Last evening he had a reaction to the dental anesthesia they used and gave me a nasty scare. Luckily the effects wore off fairly quickly and we didn't end up in the emergency room. He has another dental visit on Friday and I hope there is not a repeat of the event. Have a plumber coming out next week for some fixture replacements. Also, the updates coming in about our dear friend Carrol have not been good. He was re-hospitalized for further complications and just released yesterday. Outlook is bleak and we may be looking at making travel arrangements very soon to say our final good-byes. For his son's sake i am hoping he makes it through the Christmas holiday. Hospice is seeing to his comfort, thankfully. it has mostly just been the trivial details of living life and holding it all together. Still keeping Christmas in my heart and embracing each small blessing as it occurs. Noticed today that one friend has chosen to delete me for the second time...it saddens me, but this time I will let her go without protest. I can only be who and what I am. I do hope things are going well for you and that as the Christmas holiday approaches you are experiencing love and happiness in all it's forms. God Bless You... ![]() |
blankcanvasmd wrote on Nov 28, '11 Hello. One holiday behind us and another approaching fast. Many things to keep us busy in the next few weeks. Our Thanksgiving was quiet, but nice all the same. Meal turned out well and both my boys were home. Was in touch with other loved ones by telephone. My harvest decorations are put away and this week I'll start decorating for Christmas. I've pared down my Christmas buying this year. Partly because of the poor economy, but mostly because of the ever increasing commercialism and the obscene level people are taking it to. So much violence on Black Friday throughout the country to purchase non essential items. We have forgotten the reason for the holiday and are focusing on material "gifts". More important should be the spiritual "gifts". I think it is time to send retailers a message. I also try to boycott stores that do not support our military or who refuse to allow employees to say " Merry Christmas". ( If I learn about it, that is) I think I will be purchasing more service related or practical gifts this year. Support more businesses and jobs in my community...instead of a foreign manufacturer somewhere. The power of one may be small, but it has to begin somewhere. It is Monday again...hope you will have a great day ! It is a day off for me, so I actually have reason to enjoy the day. Tuesdays on the other hand... =( LOL ![]() |
blankcanvasmd wrote on Nov 21, '11 It is going to be a busy week for most of us. Since I am chief cook and bottle washer at my place, I know it is going to be for me. If I do not get back by your page before the holiday....may you fill your tummies with good food, enjoy the company of family and friends, and prayerfully remember your blessings ! ![]() |

blankcanvasmd wrote on Oct 29, '11 Stopping by to wish you a restful night and a wonderful week-end. Play nice with the “spooks” on Monday evening. I am having a difficult time believing the month has gone by so fast. Next week-end we have the Fall time change and some areas of the country are already getting snow ! It is supposed to be 35 degrees here by morning and I had to go out and cover my delicate plants. Feeling under the weather today...caught a stomach bug from a co-worker. I love it when they come to work half sick and leave half way through the day after spreading the lovely germs around. Hopefully it won’t last more than 12 hours. It is unusual that such bugs last long unless it is a precursor to the flu... :( Anyway this message is going to be short so that I can try to get a little sleep. My husband is at work and my little dog Spencer is my companion for the evening. What a comforting little guy he is...always wanting to be near. Till later, friends... ![]() |

blankcanvasmd wrote on Oct 24, '11 Hello. I am running late with my comments tonight. Was watching game 4 of the world series. GO RANGERS ! I am really missing my basketball, however. This lock out has been dragging on waaaaaay to long. Otherwise doing fairly well. Have a few worries and am saying prayers for several close friends who are having serious health issues. If you have been reading my notes you are aware of this already. I appreciate all those who are praying with me. Am grateful that by the grace of God my family enjoys decent health and a fairly comfortable life. We are not wealthy, but all our needs are being met. We have jobs...that makes us more blessed than a large portion of the population. I am still working short handed on the job, but we have hired a few new employees that hopefully will make it a little easier once they get acclimated. The temps have been really mild and there is a renewed possibility of rain in the forecast for Thursday. I am hopeful about that, but sending out the rain fairy to increase the odds ! LOL My critters are seriously loving it ! They are at their most playful and loveable when the weather is nice. Halloween is a week away now. Decided to host the “ little spooks” here at home. Should be fun. Thanksgiving coming on fast after that. Am always thankful, but the holiday with family and friends is always a special treat. Hope your week-end was wonderful and may this week coming up meet all your expectations. Be safe. Play safely. Enjoy life ! ![]() |
blankcanvasmd wrote on Oct 18, '11 Had a 3-day week-end from work and spent most of it away from the computer....spending time getting tasks done about the house, cooking for the family and doing some shopping. Lost a ring at Wal-Mart while loading up bags....went back a few hours later to ask about it and it had been turned in ! I was somewhat surprised, but very happy at the same time. The ring had sentimental value and it is nice to know there are some decent people out there still. Who knew????? Today we have a wind advisory for the day....gusts may get to over 40 mph. Today’s high is only going to be 71 degrees. I’m having to wait to put my scarecrows and outdoor decorations out. Perhaps on Thursday. For the first time in the past few years I will have Halloween night off and can play....do I want to simply treat the spooks, or do I want to SCARE and TREAT the spooks? Or do I want to spend Halloween at the haunted houses in the area or at SeaWorld. Having a hard time deciding. Any of you have any special plans? Whatever you do....play and stay safe. I appreciate all my friends here, so much...know I hold you in my thoughts during the week. ![]() |
